John Jack Curtin: Accomplished Stylist and Wig Master

John Jack Curtin currently serves as the Secretary Treasurer of Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Local 798, IATSE. Since being elected to his first term in 2016, Jack has worked to improve Local 798 to continue advancing the common interests of the membership.

Prior to taking office Jack worked as a hair stylist on film, television, and live theatrical productions. His impressive resume includes the 2016 Emmy-nominated The Knick (Key Hair), 2016 BAFTA and Make-up Artists and Hair Stylist Guild Award-nominated Carol (Key Hair), 2009 Academy Award-winning The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Key Hair, LA), and the Tony Award-winning productions of The Lion King (Original Hair Supervisor). Jack earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the State University of New York, New Paltz, where he focused on Fine and Preforming Arts. He attended the Central Academy of Beauty Culture in Newburgh, NY, and he received and taught advanced cosmetology techniques as a Senior National Educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems.
