Reno Wilson: Conversations with a Hollywood Actor

Reno Wilson is perhaps best known as Officer Carl McMillan on the hit CBS series Mike & Molly, alongside Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell. Reno made his television debut as Theo’s best friend, Howard, on The Cosby Show. He can currently be seen in a series regular role for the Paramount+ and Showtime prequel Dexter: Original Sin opposite Christian Slater, Patrick Gibson, and Molly Brown. He most recently wrapped a recurring role as the iconic character of Bundini in the upcoming Muhammad Ali limited series, The Greatest.

Reno has starred and guest-starred in dozens of television series, including Heist, Blind Justice, and the critically acclaimed Showtime series, The Hoop Life. Most recently, he played the series regular role of Detective Earl Brooker on the Paramount+’ series reimagining of the classic 1980s thriller film Fatal Attraction, along with a recurring role in Peacock’s Bel-Air from executive producers Will Smith and Westbrook Studios. Reno also starred in the short film Chocolate With Sprinkles, directed by award-winning writer-director Huriyyah Muhammad as part of the AFI’s 2024 Female Directing Cohort.

Reno recently wrapped shooting the independent feature Above The Line from writer-director Jeffrey Scott Collins, starring Cedric the Entertainer who is also executive producing, and a leading role in the Fox pilot The Last Police. Previously, Reno was the series regular role of Stan Hill on the hit NBC series Good Girls, alongside Mae Whitman, Matthew Lillard, Manny Montana, and Retta. He also stole the screen with his impeccable portrayal of the legendary jazz icon Louis Armstrong in the feature film Bolden.

Reno is also an accomplished voiceover artist who has voiced characters in all of the Transformers movies.

A native New Yorker who grew up with a blues pianist father and an opera singer mother, Reno attended the notable High School for the Performing Arts. He also enjoys basketball, running, spin class, yoga, and music.
