Nina’s mission is clear: to empower salon owners and stylists to grow with confidence, lead with authenticity, and build profitable, people-first businesses. Through real-world strategy and heartfelt guidance, Nina continues to inspire beauty professionals across the globe

Interviewed by Winn Claybaugh just weeks after the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) named Nina their 2026 Educator of the Year, she was buzzing with excitement. Nina explained her concept of a “people-first culture” and the steps for creating it. She also discussed common leadership mistakes that can hurt profitability. One of her biggest passions is helping business owners understand why they struggle financially, despite strong sales. Leaders often assume that being busy automatically translates into more profits, but that mentality can lead any business to grow in unhealthy ways. One of the beautiful takeaways from this interview was Winn and Nina’s discussion of having a mindset of abundance rather than a mindset of scarcity.
