Dr. Anthony M. Rossi, Jr., is an attending dermatologist surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and a professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is the founder and creator of Dr. Rossi Derm MD, a novel peptide-based skincare regimen that targets skin sensitivity and aging.
At MSKCC, Dr. Rossi pioneered restorative oncodermatology to help cancer patients and survivors manage treatment-related effects of the skin. He has led treatment paradigms to treat aging associated with cancer therapy. Restorative oncodermatology seeks to restore skin health from damaging effects of therapy. As a result, Dr. Rossi has treated severe skin changes.
Dr. Rossi is a world-renowned dermatologic surgeon and sought after for surgical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. He is a practicing dermatologist and researcher, unlike many other skincare brands, and is widely published. He serves as editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery Journal, and Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, and he is active in multiple organizations, including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and the American College of Mohs Surgeons (ACMS). He is proud to be president of the Weill Cornell Medical College Alumni Association, his alma mater.
Interviewed by Winn Claybaugh, Dr. Rossi is certainly not your typical dermatologist. The fact that he is so involved in many areas of his field as a practicing dermatologist, surgeon, researcher, professor, product innovator, editor, and so much more, has made him a world-renowned, sought-after expert. Dr. Rossi’s “Sun Smart” advice will become a must-know and must-do routine, not only to avoid skin cancers and aging, but also for healthy living.
Dr. Rossi gives great insight into the current obsession with fads and skincare trends, such as “skin cycling” and “slugging,” and he offers smart advice for skincare products and routines that work. At a time when one in every three cancers diagnosed is a skin cancer, and one in every five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, Winn’s interview with Dr. Rossi is a must. He offers profound advice and resources to equip beauty professional service providers as they play an important role on the frontlines of skin cancer prevention. The “see something, say something” call-to-action saves lives, and hairdressers, barbers, and skin therapists are often the first to see something.
